In March 2014, we have started the project management and supervision mission for the construction of the first section of the Yaoundé-Douala highway in Cameroon, funded by the National Budget. This mission is part of the Highway program, the first phase of which begins with the Yaounde-Douala highway linking the two capitals of the country (political and economic). This program contributes to the modernization of transport infrastructure and the improvement of traffic and safety conditions on the current road. The Highway Program is part of the implementation of the policy of great achievements defined by its excellence Paul BIYA, President of the Republic, Head of State.
The first section will have a length of 60 km, with a cross section in 2x2 lanes expandable to 2x3 lanes from the inside. The pavement is composed of a GNT foundation (as dog gravel) layer, a high modulus asphalt base layer and an asphalt concrete wearing course. The project includes three interchanges, four overpasses, four underpasses and several hydraulic structures.
The works contract amounts 338 billion FCFA. It is financed by EXIMBANK CHINA and the state of Cameroon. To date, the progress of construction of the first section of the Highway is evaluated at 56%, the completion of the works being planned for 2020.
