CONTROL AND SUPERVISION OF THE REHABILITATION WORKS OF AFTOUT ES-SAHELI

Senegal

Project

The Aftout Es-Saheli structure, commissioned in 1986 and built at the same time as the Diama dam, is an intake made up of 4 openings equipped with segment-type gates. It can discharge up to 15 m3/s per gate. The openings can be closed upstream using a cofferdam, which is handled by a fixed gantry equipped with a spreader bar.

The structure is 34 m long and 20 m wide.

The project concerns the rehabilitation of the structure: repair of the degraded parts, resumption of the concrete screed, protection of the banks, treatment of the 4 segmental gates, fixed parts, parts of the sheet piles out of water of the cofferdam system, repair and installation of wrought iron protection grids.
