Project
The project "Agricultural and Rural Development around the Hill Lakes (DARAL)" is part of the Investment Programme "Integrated Water Resources Management in the framework of the Development of Rural Regions (IWRM-RR)".
The overall objective of the DARAL project is to improve the living conditions in a sustainable way of the target population in the Governorates of Kasserine, Kairouan and Sidi Bouzid, settled around the existing hill lakes and their catchment areas. 6 pilot sites were identified and selected for the project:
- Oued Zguag Hill Lake (Kasserine) ; ·
- Oued El Gtate Hill Lake (Kasserine) ;
- Nouail 1 (Sidi Bouzid) flood water spreading area ;
- El Khol Hill Lake (Kairouan);
- El Gasaa Hill Lake (Kairouan);
- Gorri Hill dam (Kairouan).
The project's actions relate to the improvement of access infrastructures, the mobilisation and valorisation of irrigation water, and the provision of rural water supply and education infrastructures in villages.
Our mission
Assignment of a team of Experts for Technical Assistance to the Administration for the design and implementation of Local Development Plans in each of the sites, with training of Project beneficiaries.
