MARINE DEVELOPMENTS RELATING TO THE COOLING CIRCUITS OF THE SKHIRA NORD SITE

Tunisia

Project

To respond to the country's growing needs for electrical energy and as part of its production equipment program, STEG plans to install four combined cycle power plants at the SKHIRA Nord site. These power plants are cooled by sea water, and necessarily a pumping rate of 40m3/s ensured by circulation pumps designed for this purpose.
To ensure the proper functioning of the open cooling circuit, a development solution for this site must be developed, it is based on a specific technical study and on a multi-criteria analysis ensuring a good compromise between the good dispersion of the thermal spot at the level discharge, compliance with maintenance constraints and proper integration of development work into the environmental framework of the area.

The study carried out which is the subject of this contract relates to the studies necessary for the development of the SKHIRA Nord site to meet the seawater needs necessary for the proper functioning of the cooling circuits of four combined cycle power plants (required flow rate 40m3/s).
The SKHIRA North site is a coastal site with an area of approximately 112 Ha, located north of the port of SKHIRA and south of the industrial zone of SKHIRA, this site is delimited by two wadi beds.

Our mission

  • Mission 1: Collection, analysis and updating of available technical data.
  • Mission II: Technical studies and determination of development variants;
  • Mission III: Multi-criteria evaluation of development variants and recommendation of the optimal variant.
  • Mission IV: Carrying out detailed economic and technical studies necessary for the execution of the chosen variant;
