Mr. Tarek Hermi, Head of the control mission for phase 1 of construction of the Yaoundé-Douala highway, and Mr. Mohamed Naceur Fendri, Regional Director of SCET-TUNISIE in Cameroon, were received this Wednesday, June 11, 2024 by His Excellency the Minister of Public Works, Mr. Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi. On this occasion, he sent Mr. Tarek HERMI his congratulations and thanks for the work accomplished over the last 5 years during which he was mobilized as Head of the Control Mission for the realization of this prestigious project. This highway is one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the Central African region this century.

The construction of this 2x2 lane motorway, expandable to 2x3 lanes from the inside, required the construction and installation of gigantic quantities of earthworks, linear and transverse structures and layers of roadways, given the very uneven terrain. in the middle of the equatorial forest crossed by this highway. The overall cost of this project, which includes important environmental and social components, and the implementation of related projects for the benefit of local populations and communities, was around 700 million Euros.
