The Governor of the island of Maio in Cape Verde, Miguel Silva Rosa, visited this week the extension and modernisation works of the Port Ingles, which started in November 2020, and which are presently at a progress rate of 52%.
Given the need to transport passengers as well as different types of goods, the current configuration of the port is no longer suitable to provide these services adequately due to the lack of hoisting equipment. It should also be noted that the current wharf suffers from an advanced state of degradation requiring rehabilitation interventions.
The main components of the project are :
- The construction of a detached breakwater with jibs made of Accropodes II blocks (6 m3);
- The rehabilitation and extension of the port's logistic platform (quay) including the reinforcement of the current protection of the quay (riprap straddle);
- The construction of two Ro-Ro platforms;
- The rehabilitation works of the current wharf
SCET-TUNISIE, in association with its local partner, is in charge of the supervision and control of the works.
