Project
The Ministry of Agriculture aspires with this project to establish a structuring water transfer axis in the center of the country, Boghé and El Ghyara, to meet the needs in:
- drinking water for residents
- watering water for breeders
- irrigation water for farmers
- process water for future industrial projects
- ecological water to support ponds
The project includes :
- the construction of a water intake on the Senegal River to take a peak flow of 16m3/s
- Transfer of a flow rate of 16m3/s by pumping over a distance of more than 150 km
- The development of irrigated areas of 16,000 ha.
