Project
The project concerns the development and asphalting of Lot 1 (125 km) of the Arlit-Assamaka - Algerian border road. The road is located north of Niger and crossesthe Sahara desert.
- The pavement structure consists of :
- a foundation course of 30 cm thickness of selected gravelly material
- a base course of 20 cm thickness of soil concrete (a mixture of pit material and crushed gravel)
- a double-layer surfacing.
- The typical cross-section has a 7.00 m wide roadway with a double-layer surfacing and two shoulders of1.50 m width each with a single-layer surfacing.
- 41 hydraulic structures with a submersible reinforced concrete rafts protected by gabions upstream and downstream.
